  “ 사랑의 기쁨을 만끽하기에 인간의 삶은 너무 길고, 

사랑을 온전히 이해하기에 인간의 삶은 너무 짧은 것 같았다. “ 

-  김소연, 사랑에는 사랑이 없다 중에서 -   

사랑이란 무엇일까? 질문에 명확한 답을 할 수 있는 사람은 많지 않을 것이다. 

사랑은 이미 우리 마음 속 깊이 뿌리내린 채 서서히 가지를 뻗어가고 있는 나무와도 같아 시작점이자 근원지를 찾기 어렵기 때문이다. 

사랑은 저마다 다른 형태를 가지고 다른 방식을 가지고 있다. 

어떤 이는 애잔함을 사랑이라 부르고 어떤 이는 동경을 사랑이라 부르며 어떤 이는 그저 사랑이라며 사랑을 외칠 것이다. 

그렇다면 우리에게 있어, 나에게 있어서 사랑은 무엇일까?   

민경희 작가는 사람과 감정에 관심을 두고 대화나 장면 속에서 느껴지는 미세한 감정과 이야기처럼 

흔히 지나칠 수 있는 것들에 대해 의미를 포착하여 그려내고 있다. 

작가의 작품은 사람에 대한 관심에서 출발하여 친근하고 위트있는 대화로 위안이 되어 관객과 소통한다. 

그가 그려낸 사랑 이야기는 달콤쌉싸름한 초콜릿 같기도, 아릿하지만 상큼한 라임 주스 같기도 하다.

민조킹 작가는 연인간 사랑의 순간 속 가장 은밀하고도 농염한 순간을 솔직하게 그려내고 있다. 

신체를 가감없이 노출시켜 그리기도 하고 보일듯 말듯 여지를 남겨 관객들의 상상력을 자극하기도 한다. 

이상적인 모습보단 있는 그대로의 모습을 그려 친숙함을 선사한다. 

그가 그려낸 사랑 이야기는 때론 정열적이고 뜨겁지만 때론 평범하기도 한, 

사랑을 퍼붓기도 하고 서운함을 토로 하기도 하는 솔직 담백한 고백편지 같다.   

2023년 4월 오브제후드 갤러리에서 진행되는 <감춘사랑> 기획전은 

한창 무르익어가는 어느 봄날, 사랑 이야기를 펼쳐보는 전시이다. 

감춘(酣春)은 한창 무르익은 봄을 뜻하며 동음이의어로 ‘감추다’ 어떤 사실이나 감정따위를 남이 모르게 하다 라는 의미가 있다. 

4월은 봄날의 기운이 더해져 앙상한 가지에 푸른 잎을 매달고 얼음장같이 얼어있던 심신을 녹이는 계절이다. 

설렘 가득한 마음으로 누군가의, 우리의 사랑 이야기를 들여다 보기에도 좋은 계절이다. 

각자의 방식으로 각자의 사랑을 하듯 사랑이라는 주제를 자신만의 방식으로 풀어낸 

민경희, 민조킹 작가의 작품을 감상하며 사랑에 대해 되돌아보고 사랑에 대한 각자의 정의를 찾아보는 시간을 가져보길 바란다.

 "It seemed to me that human life was too long 

to enjoy the joys of love, and too short to fully understand it."

 What is love? Not many people can give a clear answer to this question. 

This is because love is like a tree that is already deeply rooted in our hearts and slowly spreading out its branches, making it difficult to find the starting point and source. Love comes in different forms and in different ways. Some will call it pity, some will call it longing, some will know it as love, and some will just call it love. 

Kyung Hee Min is interested in people and emotions, capturing the meaning of things that can be easily overlooked, such as subtle emotions and stories in conversations and scenes. Her works start from her interest in people and communicate with the viewer by comforting them with friendly and witty conversations. Her love stories are like bittersweet chocolate and refreshing lime juice.

MinZo_King honestly depicts the most intimate and tender moments of love between lovers. Sometimes she exposes the body to the viewer, and other times she leaves room for the viewer's imagination. She portrays people as they are rather than as they should be, giving them a sense of familiarity. The love stories she depicts are like honest confession letters, sometimes passionate and hot, but sometimes ordinary, where love is expressed or regret is expressed. 

The exhibition 'Love Story in spring', which will be held at ObjectHood Gallery in April 2023, is an exhibition that unfolds the story of love on a spring day when it is in full bloom. Gamchun (酣春) means spring in full bloom and has a homophonic meaning of 'concealment', which means to hide a fact or emotion from others. April is the time of the year when springtime is in full bloom, green leaves are hanging from the branches, and the frozen mind and body are thawing. It's a great time to look into someone else's love story with excitement. Each of us loves in our own way, and this book explores the theme of love in our own way. We hope that you will take a moment to reflect on love and find your own definition of love by looking at the works of Kyung Hee Min and MinZo_King.
